[He tipped his face into Ronan's touch, eyes fluttering closed for a moment. He never felt more like himself than when he was with Ronan. He was making a life for himself at college, but it wasn't who he really was--he didn't see anything wrong with it, either. Everyone had a way they wanted others to see them, and Adam...he just didn't want to be seen as trailer trash with an abusive father. But Ronan knew all of that about him and still saw something in him worth wanting.

Sometimes, he thought about asking what Ronan saw in him but was worried the question would be too heavy. Maybe Ronan wouldn't know how to answer, or maybe Adam wouldn't like whatever he said. He had a lot of worries all the time, and did his best to mask them so no one else would know. He thought Ronan saw right through him most of the time, though.

He sighed softly, a content sound, at the feeling of Ronan's mouth on his skin. When he was asked if he could stay, he quickly ran through a mental list of everything he needed to do over the next few days. There were important things but nothing was really pressing or time-sensitive.]

I can stay. [He wanted to stay.] And I can chip in for food. [It was somewhere between an offer and a statement, like he wasn't sure if his money would be accepted. But also he would feel guilty not making the offer.]
